More on Royal Electric Santa Figurines

Blog reader Brooke Hartman asks:

I have two of the Royal Electric Co Santa’s that light up…. They both have a “cup” in their left hand. I have always wondered what goes in the cup and your blog is the only place I’ve ever seen a picture of one so I was hoping you might know something about them. The picture of your Santa looks like it has a green cap or plug over the cup but neither of my Santa’s have that and I can’t figure out what it’s supposed to be for. Any information you could give me would be appreciated. Thank you.

To answer to that question I searched for images of Royal Electric Co. Santas where Santa is holding something in his hand.  Most commonly these Santas have a green plastic tree or a bubble light.

There are three styles of these Santas.  One is a 3D standing figurine. One is a flat backed figurine and the third is as the center post of a candolier.

One finds all sorts of these Santas with period objects that did not originally come with them, such as these.
